Screenz Puts Viewers in Judge’s Chair on Keshet’s ‘Rising Star’
Distributor Keshet Intl. has tapped Screenz as its exclusive global technology partner for the hit talent format “Rising Star,” which claims to be the first primetime live talent show in which viewers at home are the judges.
The pact sees Keshet Intl. utilize Screenz’s groundbreaking real-time voting technology. The show’s international roll out begins on Globo Brazil on April 6, where it is renamed “SuperStar,” closely followed by TVI Portugal in May. The format has been sold to more than 25 territories by Keshet Intl., including ABC in the U.S. and ITV in the U.K.
“Rising Star” was a huge hit on Keshet in Israel, generating over 10 million votes through the season, a 33.7% season average rating and a 47.4% season average share.
